Summertime has been wonderfully busy. Now that we are moving into autumn, it is the perfect time to make time for you … to settle into silence. Restorative Yoga is a mini retreat with yourself, and the time to relax is here. As you settle into each shape, you can feel tension and stress begin to melt away. Now is the time to connect with your breath, nourish your body, and settle into silence.
Restorative Yoga is appropriate for everyone. All poses are done on the floor and held for 10-15 minutes with the support of props for comfort and to ensure deep relaxation and repose. It is an excellent practice for injuries, arthritis, inflammation, challenges, and for anyone needing to relax. Resting in each pose pacifies the “fight or flight“ reaction to stress so that "rest and rejuvenation" can restore balance to the nervous system, to the muscles, to the joints, and to the mind, creating a deeper sense of calm, balance, and release.
All levels welcome. Dress comfortably. Please have any food two hours prior to class. Bring a yoga mat (if you have one) and your water bottle. Most students experience a profound sense of peace, tranquility, and restfulness which continues long after the workshop has ended. No prior experience is necessary.
Please arrive about 10 minutes early to gather your props and settle in.
