TRE™ (Tension and Trauma Release Exercises) is a revolutionary routine that releases deep-seated muscular tension to calm your nervous system promoting balance, well-being, and a sense of inner peace. This practice offers relief from anxiety, PTSD, chronic pain, past trauma, as well as everyday stress. Taught to more than 7 million people around the world, TRE™ exercises gently fatigue specific muscles (especially the psoas) to induce gentle and involuntary shaking (tremors). As you move out of “fight or flight”, your body is able to return to a more relaxed, integrated state.
We all experience stress. Some stress is deep, chronic stress from the past and some is from the little stressors of every day life. Nanci is a certified TRE™ practitioner. She leads you through a specific series of gentle exercises designed by Dr. David Berceli, PhD,, to facilitate the body’s natural shaking mechanism. Then we come down to the floor and allow the body to shake off stress! Nanci focuses on your comfort as she safely guides you through the session. The shakes of TRE™ are described by many as a pleasant, soothing, and relaxing experience.
Backed by research, this fundamental theory states that stress, tension and trauma is both psychological and physical. Some of Nanci’s students have experienced releases that took them out of the physical pains they had since childhood. A recent student who suffers with shaking caused by her anxiety is now comfortable when the shaking happens. This practice has helped her to embrace the shakes rather than being frightened by them.
The session concludes with deep rest. You will leave the session relaxed, calm, and grounded.

TRE™ was created by Dr. David Berceli, PhD., TRE™ is a series of seven exercises followed by resting on the floor in order to allow your body to "shake" or "tremor". This shaking can release stress, tension, and trauma which you are experiencing in your life presently as well as what may have happened in the past. While many practices are designed to release surface-level tension, TRE can address both deep and chronic tension and every-day stress. You will leave the session feeling relaxed and rejuvenated.
