PRENATAL COUPLES ~ Yoga & Massage Workshop

“Date Night” ~ Connect with Each Other & with Baby ~ for Prenatal Couples

$90 per couple

 

This is a great way for expectant parents to connect with each other and their unborn baby as they prepare for their baby’s birth.  The first half of the workshop teaches safe yoga poses, breath awareness and meditation.  During the second portion, partners will learn some basic but effective massage techniques to do on mamas to relieve muscle tension, fatigue, and aches and pains of pregnancy.  The session will be infused with relaxation for mamas, partners and babies, too!

 

All levels welcome.  No prior experience necessary.  Dress comfortably.  Please have your meal two hours prior to class.  Bring a yoga mat (if you have one), a blanket, a pillow, and your open heart.

IN HARMONY PRENATAL YOGA TEACHER  TRAINING  will give you the tools to safely and effectively teach prenatal yoga.  In Module 1, you will learn anatomy and physiology of pregnancy, contraindications, safe modifications, breathing and coping techniques for pregnancy and labor, mindfulness meditation, and yoga nidra.  In Module 2 we delve more deeply into prenatal as we bring in specific Goddesses and how they pertain to motherhood, the Chakras pertaining to the perinatal time, many postpartum emotional and physical challenges and changes, strengthening your core, partner yoga, diastasis, pelvic floor stabilization, and so much more.

 

Upon completion of Module 1 and 2 and the required independent study, you will be eligible for certification through Yoga Alliance as a Prenatal Registered Yoga Teacher ~ PRYT.  In Module 1, you will learn anatomy and physiology of pregnancy, contraindications, safe modifications, breathing and coping techniques for pregnancy and labor, mindfulness meditation, pelvic floor stabilization, and so much more.

 

Nanci and Lorena are alignment-based, highly-trained and experienced perinatal yoga teachers who have come together to share their passion of expertise in the skillful art of building community.  They have taught in hospitals, yoga studios, and birth resource centers in the Bay Area with more than 25 years of combined experience.

Any way you look at it, life is busy.  To take time for yourself is no longer a luxury but is now a necessity.  Restorative Yoga is a mini retreat with yourself.  In this practice you are able to settle into each pose with ease and comfort while reconnecting to your breath, quieting your mind, and nourishing your body, as you rediscover the quiet within.   The time for your mini retreat is here and now.  As you relax in each shape, you will feel any tension begin to melt away without any effort at all.

 

Restorative Yoga is appropriate for everyone.  All poses are done on the floor and held for 10-15 minutes with the support of props to ensure deep relaxation.  It is perfect for students with injuries, arthritis, inflammation, or challenges, or for anyone needing to relax.  Let your body detox this springtime.  Resting in each pose pacifies the “fight or flight“ reaction to stress so that “rest and rejuvenation” can restore balance to the nervous system, to the muscles, to the joints, and to the mind, allowing a deeper sense of calm, balance, and release.
